Professor Ashoke Ranjan Thakur started teaching in Calcutta University, Departmentof Physics, from 1977. He initiated the development and joined the Department of Biophysics, Molecular Biology and Genetics in 1987. He wasProVice Chancellor in Jadavpur University from 2001 to 2003, Vice Chancellor of West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT, now MACAU) from 2004 to 2008; the Founder Vice Chancellor of West Bengal State University from2008 to 2012;theFounder Vice Chancellor of Techno India University, Kolkata from 2012 to 2015 and Founder Vice Chancellor of Sister Nivedita University (SNU) from 2018 to 2019 and remains to be a Mentor at SNU.He began research in structural molecular biology, initiated bioinformatics as a discipline and set up a start-up for translational research inmicrobial remediation. His current interest liesinthe intersection of physical and biological sciences with areas pertaining to social science.


With experience of over two decades in the publishing industry, Madhuparna Banerjee has worked as editor for Sterling Publishers, Sage India, Vikas Publications, Niyogi Books and StreeSamya, and continues to work as a part-time editor at StreeSamya, as well as a freelance editor for academic books on social sciences for research scholars abroad and publications associated with Routledge India, TISS Guwahati, and Kassel University (Germany).




Sayan Deyis Assistant Professor in the Department of Language and Literature, Alliance University, Bangalore and a faculty fellow at the Harriet Tubman Institute, York University, Canada. His areas of research interests are posthumanism, decolonial studies, environmental studies, critical race studies, culinary epistemologies and critical diversity literacy.His latest monographs are Green Academia: Towards Eco-friendly Education Systems (Routledge, 2022) and Performing Memories, Weaving Archives: Creolized Cultures across the Indian Ocean (Anthem Press, 2023).
